Award-winning Comedy Documentary UK Premiere of The Muslims are Coming! to be held at Riverside Studios

8.30pm - Wednesday 5th February, 2014

Cactus World Films in association with Gingerwnk Studios is excited to announce the UK Premiere of the critically acclaimed comedy documentary, The Muslims are Coming!

The premiere will take place at London's pre-emineact space for risk, inspiration and creativity, the Riverside Studios, on 5th February 2014 with two screenings, 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Both screenings will be followed by a QnA with the films’ directors and producers.

The Muslims Are Coming! follows a band of Muslim-American comedians as they visit big cities, small towns, rural villages, and everything in between to combat Islamophobia. These comedians not only perform standup at each tour stop but create ridiculous interventions in unsuspecting town squares, like the ol' classic, "Ask a Muslim Booth" and “Name That Religion.” Throughout the film, comedy icons like The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart, David Cross, Janeane Garofalo, Colin Quinn, Lewis Black, Aasif Mandvi and media heavy weights like Rachel Maddow, Russell Simmons, Soledad O’Brien, Ali Velshi and Congressman Keith Ellison comment on the power of comedy and the political scope of bigotry. The film is truly about freedom of religion in America for people all faiths.

Maya Sanbar of Cactus World Film London, explains why she thinks UK audiences will love it, “The Muslims Are Coming! a laugh out loud film, and personal odyssey of some of Americas’ funniest comedians. There are universal themes about the power of comedy, and it feels like a highly relevant film for Londoners to enjoy right now.”

The award-winning film has been selected for countless festivals and has been hailed as “Editor’s Pick” by Entertainment Weekly and “Edgy. Provocative” by the LATimes.

Tickets are selling fast but are available from the Riverside Studios box office, at £9.50.

50% of the screening profits will be donated to Syrian Refugee charity Sawa4Syria to help Syrian Refugess in Lebanon.

Sawa4Syria works with Syrian refugees in Lebanon to provide relief aid, education, and social support.

The production team (directors and executive producers) will be doing a QnA after both screenings:
